New Radiology Exam Required in Pennyslvania!
In Chicago, on June 18, 2009 - It was passed that Dental assistants in Pennsylvania are now required to pass the Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) exam, which is administered by the Dental Assisting National Board, Inc. (DANB), in order to meet state requirements to perform dental radiological procedures legaly in the dental office.
This brings the total to 37 states, plus Washington, DC, that recognize or require dental assistants to pass one or more of the Dental Assisting National Board's (DANB)national exams in order to meet state dental assisting rules or regulations. The Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry's requirement of the Dental Assisting National Board's (DANB) Radiology Health Saftey (RHS) exam brings the dental assisting profession one step closer to national professional uniformity.

Congratulations Expanded Functions Dental Assistant's
The Pennsylvania Dental Assistants Association would like to congratulate all of our dental assistants who passed the new Pennsylvania Expanded Functions Dental Assistants (EFDA)exam. As of November 2009 we now have 1409 permanent Expanded Functions Dental Assistants (EFDA) permit holders in Pennsylvania. As part of your permit, Expanded Functions Dental Assistants (EFDA) are required to take State Board of Dentistry approved continuing education courses. These credits can be earned at PDAA Annual Meetings.
